ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Texas’ Coastal Bend is one of the most beautiful regions in the state. It is also home to an incredibly diverse collection of wildlife on land, in the air, and in the ocean – the inspiration behind Gary Mc Alea’s new “The Padre Collection.” The idea to offer this exclusive fine art photography collection in a dedicated Bistro gallery was conceived over a year ago by Gary and Glenn Mier, the new owner of Black Sheep Bistro. Coming from the heart of New Mexico’s art scene, Santa Fe, Glenn wanted to bring that level of culture to Padre Island. He explained that, “Gary was the perfect choice because he shows off the local beauty in a way that inspires others. When (guests) experience the natural beauty (Gary) shares in his art, it motivates them to care… to want to protect our wildlife and our island.
BLACK AND WHITE
This sophisticated collection celebrates Texas Beaches. From pregnant dolphins frolicking in Corpus Christi Bay and pelicans flying over Padre Island, to modern takes on Bob Hall Pier and captivating vignettes of shells and sand dollars, this curated collection is worthy of the most discerning collectors.
COASTAL COLOURS
This delightful collection entices beach enthusiasts and wildlife lovers alike. From warm sunrises along the pier and cranes flying overhead, to noble pelicans resting in the gulf and newborn sea turtles journeying to the sea, this full-color collection will brighten every beach home and urban oasis.

One of my favorite gallery shows was the successful 4-month solo exhibit of "Wildlife by Gary Mc Alea" at the Lea County Museum. It featured 45 pieces of my art ranging in sizes from 16x20 to 60x60. The museum has added four pieces from this show to their permanent collection.
